"Founds" going in

The concrete is finally flowing, with six cubic metre being poured this morning. There is another four due tomorrow and that should be the end of the base foundations. The superstructure, the stuff between foundations and walls, should be in place next week and then it's time for another batch of concrete for the garage floor.

Tarpaulin and polythene sheets, ordered on Monday night, arrived this morning, so the time has come to start packing away all the contents of the lounge - soon to become kitchen. On Friday, plumber, "brickie" and decorator will start getting it all ready, in time for the installation of kitchen units in the first week of May.

Site meeting went well and it sounds as though the team is fully committed to driving the project forward in a sensible manner. Whether we can recover the two weeks already lost is another issue. The question is more likely to be how we can prevent any additional delays.
