Ooooops!


It may not be the size of a football pitch, but the markings would make any grounds- man proud. After moving another 30 tonnes of earth off site, the area where the foundations are due to be built have now been levelled. There's another 30 tonnes to go tomorrow and then foundations start in earnest.

In the meantime, the JCB has left the site and, as a parting "present", managed to pull down one of the stone gate pillars. It didn't cause too much upset to the site manager, as it "as it is going anyway". However, his mood changed when it was pointed out that this was one of only two posts to be retained. The other four still to be removed are located elsewhere on the site. It's the first bit of collateral damage and the Americans would have been proud. At least we have enough original stone to build a new one...
