Kitchen ceiling comes down
Most of the lights, sockets and taps are out of commission while we're waiting for the new stuff to be connected. However, the toilets are still working and so are a couple of cold water taps and the electric shower. The problem is that they're now having to stand up to mains water pressure, rather than a more pedestrian gravity-fed system. Until yesterday, everything was fine.
With the old kitchen floor covered in puddles of water, it was obvious something was wrong. But finding a leak in a ceiling perforated by holes for cables and pipes is not an easy task. So out came the hammer, overall, helmet and goggles, and down came the kitchen ceiling! Messy, but at least we managed to find the leak and stop any further damage. No the only task remaining is to clear out soggy plasterboard. What a fantastic way to spend a Saturday.
