Elemental protection

As we wait with baited breath for the stainless steel roofing crew, all window frames have now been covered with polythene in an attempt to keep the elements out of the extension. The iroko hardwood frames have been installed and while they can remain untreated for ever without any problems of rotting and deterioration, it's a different matter with the internal flooring. It also keeps water away from the cables, gas pipes and radiators feeds which have now been installed throughout the extension and existing house. The “first fix” is all done and we now have masses of wires and pipes hanging from clips and holes through floor joists and wall partitions.
