It's what dreams are made of and nightmares kindled: Most home owners aspire to it; some take a few tentative steps and fewer still are crazy enough to go the full hog! This blog shares some of the trials and tribulations of a major redevelopment of a 1950s home through a cataclysmic transformation which retains the best of the last Century while metamorposing the property into a design classic fit for today's living.

Shed no more. The summer house (read fancy shed with windows and the smell of a sauna) has gone! Ronald, Ronnie & Friend expertly took it apart, well put their Costco wrecking bars and hammers to good use, and filled two trailers with bits of shed. It's better than going to landfill and will save the builders having to take it down.

Ronnie is set to rebuild it in his own garden, fitting two catflaps in the process. Why? Being a fair-weather model railway enthusiast, he's looking to "park" the kit in the shed when not in use. Come the summer, he'll dust off his peaked cap, switch on the gear and sit back and watch the train come through the catflaps! Great idea and one which will surely amuse his young grandson!

Also managed to offload one of the two remote controlled garage door openers. Five minutes later, it was all in the back of the trailer, including the shed. He'll have a busy weekend putting it all together...
